Christmas Day began in January 1916. Elsa admired new, palm-sized statue, another collection that reside on your desk. The memory was a piano miniature crystals formed by glass € "one for Christmas Eve that Grant had given him.
The gift selected Grant flattered Hera € "this one so significant. It was perfect. Moved her. But as she sat at his desk adoring glare transparent miniature of the statue, she grieved by his brush with his novel was filled with uncertainty again. This confusion about his life was so confusing, as she had always seen his future very clearly. Perhaps a prisoner walk in the park, where she could meet with the board would clear your mind some. Months she had last visited the site.
Elsa stepped out in an hour earlier from a cold morning in January. The winter air cooled greeted. The sky was cloudy white. Elsa passed through the rigid bars of iron gate, then folded his hands in his warm fur muffler, mink, while a thick, armored mesh neck scarf.
After a short walk around the neighborhood, Elsa set foot upon the white base of Willow Park. The vastness of the place was deserted. The trees were frozen, their gnarled sterile. She heard the silence about it. A great calm filled the air. Everything was calm. As she began to walk on the path covered with snow, his eyes examined the frost-covered willow sleeping. She embraced the peace knowing that the beat to play music in your ears and corridors of the school with the noisy chatter echoing was only days away. While she was walking alone along roads covered with snow, she couldn t ™ € find answers to the dilemma that plagued his mind.
~
Elsa resumed his studies at the University of Kingston. His spirit was sad as the gray clouds hanging over downtown Kingston. His busy schedule, which included a music major final exam, was hampered by a matter of weight that could not be postponed any longer. It should give an explanation for not writing sooner.
Elsa reluctantly, wrote a letter very painful for the boy whom she affectionately admired. When she finally sent it, Elsa pushed hard to forget it completely.
Meanwhile, in Boston, Grant found himself in the shadows of Elsaa's silence once again, his commute to the office always resulted in empty. Finally, a month after Christmas, a letter arrived in his mail slot.
Thursday January 20, 1916
Dear Grant,
Thank you for the gift "| is adorable.
I should have written earlier. The day after Christmas, I was looking at a blank page in my milk for almost one o'clock ET didn' know what to write. As I sat at my desk, I realized that may have been hasty when I left a note on my front door for Thanksgiving.
Our time in the lake ice was truly romantic. But when the early Christmas morning arrived, something inside me declined. Regarding relationships, courting is a delicate issue, which can be terribly complicated. If someone like me to engage in a procession in one hand and manage the affairs of my life, on the other hand, there is a delicate balance that must be maintained well. I would be as a performer a standing tight rope-balance your life with a pole. She should keep an eye on your destination and be robust enough to keep balanced in order to reach its intention, without falling. As I said, my world is very difficult with my dream of teaching music and everything required of me. I am beset court may have consequences on my future. I' m afraid to lose a part of my life that I love.
Grant, do not want to discourage you, I can not say that your call should come to an end. Please take my words wella € "and with understanding.
Respectfully
Elsa
Elsaa's agenda, busy with studies class, pushed to early February. She did well in their mid-term reviews, but its final music received criticism from his teacher, Mr. Hodges. Its modern style, the veteran teacher said to him, would not support accepted into the music world. Ingrid Bowers, a colleague who' d Elsa known since the ninth grade, had been a thorn in his side. Ingrid played the classics as well, but lacked the talent for composition, which was something that Elsa did with ease. After the music teacher made his blunt assessment of Elsaa's work, Ingrid looked over his shoulder and laughed cruel words to your enemy.
Since the beginning of the new year, Madeline realized that her daughter was very quiet and secluded away. His spirit seemed overwhelmed, overwhelmed with emotional confusion since Granta's visit. A quiet storm churned inside her. Elsa was confused, his contentment normal and focus was lost.
When Elsa came home one day, his mother tried to talk to her. Elsa had retreated to her room, pondering the role of English, when a soft nock on the door rang.
œElsa ", "mother nodded, "may I come in? ""Yes <br>, Mother."<br> His mother, in fact, knew Elsaa's shifting moods to Grant. She gave her daughter time and space needed to resolve their feelings, but it was time to clean the air. Madeline opened the door and entered Elsaa's room.
"Dear would like to speak with You.a € The care and concern for his mother's voice rang Elsa. "Sit here with me in bed."<br> Elsa capped his pen and sat beside her mother, although she did not want to deepen their confused state of mind.
"Elsa, I' ve noticed that youâ ™ € ve been extra quiet since Christmas. Is there something bothering you? " <br> Elsa was silent. She did not know which set of problems weighing on the soul of his loving mother had noticed in his behavior. After a brief pause, all Elsa could say was "Oeno, Mother."His head bowed, she was unable to make eye contact.
"Are sure, dear? "asked the mother sympathetically.
His mother's poll soft softened Elsa, she could no longer remain silent.
"for last week, at the end of our music, "she said painfully, tears swelling in his eyes, "We had to demonstrate a music piece € "from either a classic or an original composition. After I played my composition, Mr. Hodges humiliated me in front of the entire class telling me that my style would not be accepted because it is very modern. He hinted that the classics are the only recognized form of art.â <br> € "Dear, you know that' s not true, "Madeline expressed sympathy as she wrapped her right arm around her daughterâ ™ € s Elsa shoulder pulling for safety and warmth of your hand. "Mr. Hodges is a former music teacher who believes in the classics € "like his father does. He should keep his comments fashioned for you! " <br> Elsa continued, "Then Ingrid Bowers turned and laughed at me saying that my stylish, it's a waste of time.A <br> € "Ah this girl, "said Madeline. "Dear, you know why Ingrid said that? "Elsa nodded his head hanging low. "Oesha's always been jealous of you because she canâ ™ € t write their own music. Don' t allow their cruel words to interfere with its dreams."
Elsa sat quietly. His silence said that there was more.
"Dear, what else is bothering you? I see in your face, "mother gently probed deeper.
Only then his mother Elsa looked into his eyes, knowing that his feelings for Grant could not be hidden. Silent tears flowed from her eyes and down her checks. Suddenly Elsa broke out in a heartfelt sob like a girl who' d fallen and torn the fabric of the favorite dress.
Madeline wrapped her arms around his poverty stricken daughter and held her tightly, trying to comfort her as a child when she was Elsa was a baby in her arms. Elsa cried earnestly in his mother's shoulder.
"Elsa, my dear sweet, "said quietly, shaking his daughter grew slightly, "It' s all right, my precious. It' s all right. You c

- Researching the historical novel, part I
- s that I have left to the previous offer, the research that goes into writing a historical novel can be almost minimal, or can lead to weeks and months of effort. If one wants to write about something as remote as the caravans carrying silk in the old days on the Silk Road through China, Tibet and the regions, the work required can be considerable. One of the best novels of the series in environments Thomas Costain The Black Rose, who has sold over six hundred thousand copies in its first im......
