Factoring Invoices How to Get Off The Cash Flow Merry-Go-Round

ll firms to succeed and to succeed you must have sufficient cash flow. Are you tired of your unpredictable cash flow cycle? Does the ritual of making the cash portion to cover short term obligations frustrating your business and make you dizzy?

It is time to find a way out of cash merry-go-round! One way to get off and find your balance is to work with a factoring company. Factoring is the purchase of credit worthy accounts receivable in exchange for immediate cash. This can provide working capital when conventional financing is not an option.

Invoices are assets that the work is already completed or the product has been delivered. You're just waiting for the invoice to be paid in the next 30-45 days or more. Unfortunately, companies often need the money due, long before the customers to pay - even if the customers pay on time.

The companies are waiting for you. Once you have established with a factor, you will be advanced 80 per cent or more of the nominal value of the invoice within 12-48 hours from the time it is submitted to this factor. The fund balance, less the discount fee, is handed to you once the factor has not been paid.

The cost of doing business with a factor is the reduction of costs. These fees range from one to ten percent, depending on the creditworthiness of the customer are charged and the overall risk. These costs are often offset by the opportunity to take advantage of cash, market growth and reduction of penalties for late payment.

In addition to providing immediate cash for invoices, a factoring company performs credit analysis on existing and new clients, tracking bills as they come due and provide timely updates. Other benefits are a better credit rating, the ability to take advantage of volume discounts, the ability to meet obligations on time; end payroll and tax payment worries.

Candidates - Any industry that creates a company with the invoice for the delivered product or service is a candidate for factoring. Industries could be medical, trucking or construction and they could be janitorial to high tech, and everything in between. They could be start-up businesses or those that have tremendous growth.

The factors are mainly interested in four things:

1> The company is a license and registration.

2> The products and / or services that are provided are of acceptable quality and consistent.

3> The bills are met, accurate and verifiable.

4> The factor may be a first lien position on all claims.

Finding a factoring company - Each works a little differently, so there are different benefits and costs. There are many factors known, but some more than others charge. Here are some criteria to consider:

> Are there any fees charged in addition to the reduced price (the cost for the moment the money is out)? These could include fees, cost of loan origination, establishment fees, administrative fees and maintenance costs. Are there penalties?

> Does the factor provide credit services to existing customers or new? Do they charge for this service?

> Does the factor provide timely reports on what happens with your account?

> Does the factor provide any value-added service?

> How much experience, the factors are and what their level of knowledge.

Bankers, suppliers, customers, APC, lawyers and colleagues can be a good source of reference for a plant the company famous. Another excellent source of reference is a broker of experience, master factoring. Good brokers are several factors known, they have chosen to work with and have an idea of costs to be borne.
