Creating a Cash Flow

ash flow is the money that comes out of your business and is regarded as his life force. According to a study by U.S. Bank, 82% of bankruptcies result of poor cash management skills. Therefore, the statements of cash flows monthly can help your company avoid missing money. Keep in mind that your company are not necessarily equivalent to benefit your cash ins and outs.

A statement of cash flows consists of five sections:

1. Beginning Cash Balance: This section includes the cash available in both the bank and on hand at the beginning of the month. If you have $ 800 in your account and $ 400 in cash, beginning of your cash balance is $ 1200.

2. Cash In: Includes all activities that make your company money, as money from sales and receivables (cash payments for old debts). If you won $ 1000 cash $ 400 in sales and people who paid their debts, your total "Cash In" is $ 1400.

3. Cash Out: Lists of all cash expenses that your business. Items commonly under this section include cash used to pay the rent, salaries, supplies, loans and taxes. If you paid $ 700 for rent, $ 200 for supplies, and $ 1,000 for salaries, the "Cash Out" total $ 1900.

4. Net Change: Determined by subtracting the total "Cash Out" (the 3rd section) of the total "Cash In" (the 2nd section). In our example, the net change is: $ 1400 - $ 1900 = - $ 500. Keep in mind that the positive cash flow allows your company to continue its growth.

5. Cash balance end: calculated by adding the "Net Change" (section # 4) and the "Beginning Cash Balance" (section # 1). The "End Cash Balance" becomes the "Beginning Cash Balance" in the next period.

Tip: A negative "Net" means that you have spent more than what you earned. If so, you should reduce expenditure to ensure that you do not deplete your cash reserves. Check out our next article to learn more about the negative correction "Net Change".
